Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy Temple

Lord Hanuman holds a unique place among the Hindu deities. We can find many temples raised for him and by number it is next only to Lord Ganesh. The traditional Hindu believes that Lord Hanuman is living today in His identical body and when this Kalpa ends and another begins. He will be appointed by creator of the Universe. According to the Hindu faith, Hanuman and Vinayaka are two aspects of God not afflicted by Sani. There is also a belief that all the planets are under the control of Hanumans tail. Whoever worships Hanuman is granted fortitude and strength.
Lord Panchamukha Anjaneya Swami was the main deity of Sri Raghavendra Swami. The place where he meditated on this five-faced form of Hanuman is now known as Panchamukhi, wherein a temple for him has been built. There is also a shrine for Panchamukha Anjaneya Swami at Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, India. A 40 feet tall monolithic green granite Murti of Sri Panchamukha Hanuman has been installed in Thiruvallur, also in Tamil Nadu. This place was known as Rudravanam in olden times when many saints and seers had blessed this place with their presence. The Panchamukha Hanuman Ashram itself was established by a saint called Venkatesa Battar. The Hanuman Temple, Ayodhya

Hanuman Garhi temple is easily approachable from the rest of Ayodhya as it is situated right in the center of the town. The temple is a must visit during your trip to Ayodhya. The temple is an important site both in terms of religion as well as architecture and is thus hot among the tourists visiting Ayodhya. Hanuman Garhi is a massive structure in the shape of a four-sided fort with circular bastions at each corner.

Hanuman Garhi is actually a cave temple that is approachable by a flight of 76 steps. The manner in which this temple has been carved out is mesmerizing. One has to take the curved flight of stairs to reach this spot that is said to be once inhabited by Lord Hanuman. Lord Hanuman was the escort and guard of Lord Rama during and after his campaign against Lanka.

If one goes by the legend, Hanuman lived in this cave and guarded the Janambhoomi or Ramkot. The sanctum contains the statue of Mata Anjani holding infant Hanuman on her lap. The statue itself is unimpressive and one has to struggle in dark while figuring out the statue. The faithful believe that all their wishes are granted with a visit to this holy shrine. http://www.openhindu.com/temple/hanuman-garhi
